Ipsy Bag: April 2014

Oh My Goodness! This month's Ipsy bag is awesome, probably my favorite yet. This month's theme is Beauty Rocks.

This month's bag is dark blue with a silver record on the front. The record also says Beauty Rocks and Ipsy. The bag is thin and probably can't hold much. This is not my favorite bag from Ipsy but it is cuter than last months'.

In my bag I had. . .

Dr. Brandt- Microdermabrasion Skin Exfoliant .25oz (Retail: 2oz- $78.00): This is one of those products that I'm never thrilled about but I don't hate. I'm usually disappointed to see anything from Dr. Brandt because I would never be able to afford it if I wanted to repurchase. I do however like to try new exfoliants, that puts this in the "so, so" pile. I'm sure if I like this it will show up in a favorites.

Coastal Scents- Medium Shadow Brush (Retail: $2.49): My first impression is that this will be a good brush. It is made from natural fibers (this is a point of internal conflict for me). The head is the perfect size for applying a base color or defining the crease. The fibers are soft and well shaped but they are packed firmly. I look forward to using this and seeing how it holds up.

Urban Decay- Travel Sized 24/7 Velvet Glide-On Eye Pencil in Black Velvet (Retail: $19 for 3 piece travel set or $20 for one full-size): First let me say that I was hoping this would be in my bag after I saw the Ipsy sneak peek. I have swatched the Urban Decay eyeliners many times but could not justify the cost. This is easy and smooth to apply, it is super pigmented and does not smudge (an impressive quality for a pencil). I love this!!

Starlooks- Luscious Longwear Lip Pencil in Naked (Retail: $14.00): What a pretty nude shade, this almost perfectly matches my natural lip color. I am not a huge lip pencil person but have used them a little in the past few months. This is exactly the type of color as I would want for everyday. This feels moist on the lips and adds a lovely tint.

Elizabeth Mott- Pop! Goes the shadow in Champagne (Retail: $12.99): This is a really cute single shadow. This would be great to add a little shimmer to a natural look or as a base for a neutral look. The shadow has decent pigmentation and is smooth. When applied with a brash there is little to no fall out. All together this product is a win!
Overall I really liked the products in this month's bag, even if I didn't love the bag. What a steal for $10!? I probably would have paid that for the Urban Decay Eyeliner alone!
